"Life in Christ for every Alaskan and the world beyond"

_Join us as we return to The Gospel According to Matthew.  The Gospel of Matthew is the life-story of Jesus through the eyes of a Roman tax collector. Matthew had spent his life-time carefully carving out a place for himself on earth. He accomplished that through selfish ambition, personal compromise, and political flexibility. He was loyal to Caesar even at the expense of his own people. Now he understands that he has been serving the wrong king and he wants to convince his Jewish brothers that Jesus is “Messiah” after all; their only hope for eternal life. His gospel emphasizes Jesus’ kingly rule and divine authority. It provides a bridge between the testaments of the Bible and it points to God’s unchanging commitment to populate his kingdom with citizens from among every people group on earth.

Lead Pastor Update

By: Jay Pullins

Hello, ChangePoint missionaries of the gospel!

Well, it’s that time of year when we’re all itching to play hard in the best state in America! We survived another dark, snowy winter, and the salmon will be running before we know it! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready! If this is your first summer in the ChangePoint family, you need to know that we intentionally slow down the pace of church activities in the summer. We want you to get out and enjoy God together through his creation. As Dan said a couple weeks ago, we’d rather see you on the river thinking about Jesus than in church thinking about the river.

Outreach Opportunities

Picture
By: Jim Capaldo

It is a joy to belong to local church family where so many are giving their lives away in service to others, in the name of Christ.

The selfless service of ChangePointers is strongly being felt in our city and around the state.   However, there are still many in our church family who are looking for responsible ways to invest their time talent and treasure into both local and state outreach.

In Galatians 6:10, we are exhorted to act on our opportunities, “to do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

ChangePoint NEA Update

Hello ChangePoint family,

Here's a quick update on what's been happening at the Northeast campus.

Our first Easter service was a blast!  We had a full family service that included participation by our children.  Children assisted in leading worship, prayer and facilitating the welcome.  When I asked for volunteers to help with a sermon illustration, you should have seen young boys and girls storm the stage, it was hilarious.  We ended the service taking communion together as a family followed by great fellowship and a potluck dinner.

__The Reformation restored the Scriptures to the people, but the job was only halfway finished. Today the church is awakening to the truth that ministry is not just the domain of clergy, but belongs to the entire body of Christ. God is moving her to complete her unfinished business of placing the ministry back in the hands of the people. Unfinished Business has played a pivotal part in helping the church reclaim ministry at the grassroots level.
